Before the release of the film, it bagged many awards, won the National Award for the Best film in Tamil in the 62nd National award, chosen to compete in the 16th Zimbabwe International Film Festival, screened as the only Tamil film in the Indian Panorama 2014 held in Goa, won the Best Tamil film award at 12th Chennai International film festival.

Director added “It is a film made by mostly newcomers. The film has a soul and so much depth. I am sure it will do well."
