Anna University Exams Postponed: Chennai Floods

Schools, Colleges and Universities are closed, Infact Anna University Colleges are cancelled which are to be held in December month. Due to the sudden damage of properties in the schools.

Rajiv Pandian who first signed in the petition saying, “With the never stopping rain and floods that have surrounded Chennai and other districts, disturbed the daily regime of the citizens, conditions for the students also has become pathetic. Already the exams that were scheduled to be held from November 16 to 28 are postponed. Many students are not able to concentrate and many have lost their study materials in floods. It is also difficult for the students to travel to their colleges and also to arrange for food accommodations. Please consider this request and officials should take needed actions.”

Donation of Rajinikanth is made through Sri Raghavendra Public Charitable Trust which is owned by Rajinikanth.

Squash Player  Dipika Pallikal contributed Rs 2 lakhs:

India's top Squash player who is also the Chennai resident Dipika Pallikal contributed Rs 2 lakhs. Currently she is standing in 16 place said, "I saw the Chennai deluge from Hong Kong. It really pained me to see people suffering with the whole city becoming an island. I couldn't land in Chennai on my way back and was forced to take the flight to Mumbai last night. I will be back to Chennai as soon as I can."

Dipika also said, Chennaites have been strong in the relief operations. The young and old have come together helping everyone in need. I will also help in whatever way I can. The honourable CM has awarded me generously for my gold medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games as well as the Asian Games medals and now I would like to do my bit to revive our Chennai. While I will help in relief operations wherever I can, I would like to make a contribution of Rs 2 lakh to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund."

Singapore contributed USD 75,000 :

Singapore contributed USD 75, 000 Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement said, "Balakrishnan has also informed the Chief Minister of Singapore’s contribution of USD 75,000 to the Singapore Red Cross’ “South Asia Floods 2015” public appeal."

Chennai Rains received help from Corporate:

"Indian Bank's 328 branches with 393 ATMs were operating in Chennai and nearby regions. It deployed 250 banking correspondents in Chennai, Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram districts.

Korean auto-major Hyundai Motor India Foundation, the CSR division of Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), delivered 11,000 food packets to the flood-relief team set up by the government over the last two days. 

Srinivasan Services Trust, the CSR arm of Sundaram ClaytonBSE -2.24 % and TVS MotorBSE -0.69 % Company distributed over 1 lakh food packets and 50 tonnes of food to people affected in low lying areas."

“As instructed by our Managing Trustee, Sri Rajinikanth, we are enclosing herewith a pay order of date bearing No. 056325. Drawn on Karnataka Bank, Chennai, for Rs 10,00,000 (Rupees Ten Lakhs Only) favouring CHIEF MINISTER PUBLIC RELIEF FUND, towards donation for rain affected victims of Tamil Nadu,” is mentioned in the letter Sri Raghavendra Public Charitable Trust.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, Rains will be continued in 72 hours and in next 48 hours are very critical. Flights and Railways are shutdown, AAI said 3500 people including 1500 passengers are stranded at the Chennai International Airport.

Kollywood Super Star Rajinikanth contributed Rs 10 Crore 10 Lakhs to the pregnant ladies and food victims of the Chennai rains. For the first time in the history of the Tamil Nadu big damage is done in 100 years. Everyone came forward and collecting funds against the Chennai Relief funds.

Jayalalithaa Amma Stickers on Chennai Rains Relief Materials:

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and her party AIADMK,

"Several people on Twitter have alleged that relief materials are being allowed in certain areas only when they carry a mandatory sticker with Amma's (as Jayalalithaa is addressed by her supporters) face. They have shared images of AIADMK volunteers sticking such posters and fliers on relief packets to be distributed to the stranded people in Chennai, Cuddalore and other places."

Santosh volunteers said,  "AIADMK cadre stopped our vehicle, intimidated us and forcibly stuck these stickers on the rice bags, food packets etc. This is atrocious. They can't do this,"
