The movie deals with a music composer, who moves to a village (Punjab) in research of a golden voice. Debutant director and writer Shefali Bhushan envisages a musical romance playing out between a young couple, who bond through their common love for music.

With a very fresh story line, Shefali Bhushan has made a remarkable debut as a director with Jugni. The term 'Jugni' is a double meaning. It's literal translation means 'female firefly'. The film is being distributed by PVR Pictures and is set to release nationalwide in India on January 22nd, 2016.

Jugni movie revolves around the free living spirit, In this movie Jugni means Firefly, who is music director called as Vibs, One day Vibs strucks with tide on the road, In this run vibs meets Bibi Saroop in Punjab who is incsearch of Vibs voice, Bibi son is a famous singer. Rest of the movie is all about the making tough decisions while trying to soften the blows and dealing with the studied dramatic turns and unpredictabilities of life and finding the place which one can call home; home of the heart, where the firefly is at her brightest.
